Firstly, we have an electricity blackout in the area due to cattle rubbing against electricity poles . . . then we have the borough council allowing the building of 75 houses on an agricultural field.

Firstly, we have an electricity blackout in the area due to cattle rubbing against electricity poles.

Perhaps that should make Scottish Power think again about "overhead lines" coming from Wrexham towards Oswestry.

Then we have the borough council allowing the building of 75 houses on an agricultural field which, in turn, will alter St Martins enormously - because not just the houses will be built but a new road layout is to be provided for the new estate.

To top it all, I've been told that there's been no "Last of the Summer Wine" filmed this year in Holmfirth.

So it looks as if its been the "last" Last of the Summer Wine! Aye.

It looks as if the saying "nothing lasts forever" is true.
