I am writing in reply to the continuing tirade by those who seem content to spend their waking hours criticising Shrewsbury Town FC and its new stadium.

I am writing in reply to the continuing tirade by those who seem content to spend their waking hours criticising Shrewsbury Town FC and its new stadium.

It should be noted that STFC is also a taxpayer of this borough. It brings significant income into it through the matches it stages, the people that attend and visit its shop and eateries etc, and through its profile on the national stage.

Let it also be stated that having the football club in the area has brought considerable benefit to those peoples in providing walk and cycle ways that otherwise wouldn't have been provided.

Also, despite only being affected 30 times a season, residents' parking restrictions that would be the envy of the most exclusive residence.
