Left out in church

I sympathise with Mr Ricketts, who was treated badly by his church. I suppose we should put it down to human nature.

Some churches have the warmth others do not - we have to pick and choose.

Perhaps he should have inquired why he was not given some attention and care, after his years of service.

Certainly the minister and leaders would have been at fault.

Personally, when I moved to a new town, I felt for some time that in the church to which I was transferred I was invisible.

I was not asked to take part in anything at all.

Then, after a whole 12 months, I was thrilled to be asked to play the organ.

This was frowned on - they were very possessive and thought the organ would be broken.

They hid the key to the organ to prevent me from playing any more.

So I do not attend this church any more, although I love it, as it was built by a relative of mine.

I find a welcome elsewhere.

Sad.
