Exception to stadium comments

I take great exception to the letter published recently in your column. Can I please put on record that it is not just the residents of Sutton who are outraged by the positioning of the new football stadium in Shrewsbury.

I take great exception to the letter published recently in your column by Mr Stuart Parton, from Telford.

Can I please put on record that it is not just the residents of Sutton who are outraged by the positioning of the new football stadium in Shrewsbury and the poor infrastructure that surrounds it in terms of parking and access, for which the local authorities can only be held responsible.

We in Meole, and I have friends in Belle Vue and Bayston Hill who already have had bad experiences in the very few matches played at the new ground nick-named "The Barn" by locals.

My daughter was also jostled while trying to do her shopping by so-called friendly STFC fans in the retail park.

In winter your writer may have to walk unlit Oteley Road in the dark. But I expect we, the local taxpayers, will have a street lighting installation bill to pay for when someone at the council realises this error.
