On brink of creator's sabbath

If we agree evolution is a theory, which Darwin acknowledged, it is not factual and would not require us to believe the world must be millions of years old.
If we decide there is a creator, we need to search his word, which informs us in Peter Ch3, v8, that one day to him is as 1,000 years and 1,000 years as one day.
If he created all things in six days and then had a day of rest, this would teach us that this present order has continued for 6,000 years in which time, the creator has allowed humans, for the mo- st part, to go their evil way.
The few in every age that acknowledge and attempt to walk in his precepts are promised a part in that sabbath of 1,000 years to come.
The genealogy from Adam to Christ can be traced back 4,000 years. We live in the year 2007AD - We are now on the brink of the sabbath.
Has evolution something better to offer?
