Wasps are really harmless
Wasps will often build a nest in a roof, under the floor by entering via an air brick, in a hole in a wall, in a shed or elsewhere, and sometimes this is close to human habitation.

Many people just think, "Wasps! Call in pest control and kill them." But in reality they will seldom do anyone any harm. As long as the nest is not very close to a door or window that must be opened, the wasps will will not attack. They do not attack unless threatened.
So, if you have wasps, just leave them alone.
