Wasteful EU travels in Europe
Under pressure from French president Jacques Chirac, Tony Blair agreed to surrender the EU rebate that Margaret Thatcher had won for us.

Consequently, if our MPs in Westminster vote to approve it our annual £3.5 billion contribution to Europe will increase by a further £2.5 billion.
That's £1.2 billion more than would be required to remedy the combined debts of all our NHS trusts.
How stupid are we to allow that to happen when, purely to salve French pride, the EU parliament moves unnecessarily between Brussels and Strasbourg every month, wasting 200 million euros annually and completely undermining EU efforts to cut CO2 emissions by producing an unnecessary 20,000 tons of the stuff every year?
It's inefficient, wasteful and completely unjustifiable by any logical yardstick, but then that's Europeanism.
It's very like a hybrid of communism. Everybody is equal, except that some are more equal than others!
