It's no use ignoring the threat

I think that WF Kerswell needs to remove his head from the sand over the threat of global warming. Scientists from around the world are trying to warn us about the threat.

I think that WF Kerswell needs to remove his head from the sand over the threat of global warming. Scientists from around the world are trying to warn us about the threat.

Canadian coastguards who monitor the movement of icebergs from Greenland report a steady increase in size and numbers going further out into the Atlantic.

This will result in a cooling of the ocean which, in turn, will affect the Gulf Stream and, as we are on the same parallel as Canada, will result in our winters becoming similar to theirs.

Like Mr Kerswell I am of mature years and what happens in 15 or 20 years' time will not affect me - but I have grandchildren and do not want their generation to say: "They knew it was happening. Why didn't they do something about it?".

I don't think the majority care enough to alter their comfortable lifestyles. Recently 1.8 million people signed up against congestion charging. How many would be prepared to share cars?
