Fans were being offered a glimpse of the trophy in the town centre branch of Barclay's bank.
One of the first people to have their picture taken with the trophy today was Steven Horton, nine, from Donnington.
His dad, Dave Horton, said: "He was really excited about having his picture taken. We knew it was happening because he came home from school one day and told us all about it, so we decided to make sure we were among the first ones to be seen."
The trophy was flanked by two security guards, as people paid a donation to charity to have their picture taken with the prize.
Louise Cotton, 44, from Trench, whose 11-year-old son Josh also had his picture taken, added: "Josh was up really early this morning and full of beans with excitement."
Hundreds of children were expected to pack out the branch to see the trophy on the last day of the half-term holiday between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
Tracey Orefice, branch manager, said: "Everyone is welcome to come down and have their photo taken with a trophy John Terry held aloft last season."
