Polish are not to blame
I am writing in response to the letter about Polish immigrants on December 28. I sympathise with the nameless writer's bad health, but how can immigrants be to blame for the bad management of the NHS?

I work with several Polish people and they are friendly and hard working, more so than a lot of British people. The writer needs to see immigrants as people and not just statistics, if the writer wants to be surrounded by English-speaking people they should go to Spain, or watch TV shows about buying cheap houses in eastern Europe. When making broad, sweeping statements about nationalities beware of the pot calling the kettle black, a few decades ago there were similar sentiments about Indians, Chinese and Afro-Caribbeans. Are the writer's views any more acceptable simply because the Polish have the same skin colour?
