Danger in design of cycle track
I recently attended a meeting when an officer of Telford & Wrekin Council was promoting an application to place a cycle track and ball court on Admaston playing fields.
He told us the cycle track would accommodate three-year-olds learning to ride.
At the same meeting our village WPc said she supported this cycle track and would allow her six-year-old son to ride on it.
I was against this cycle track in the first place, concerned at the steep and undulating surface. But to no avail.
The officer stated it was much smaller than a BMX track and would be quite suitable for youngsters.
Last week, a six to eight-year-old lad crashed his bike and received a serious multiple fractures to his arm.
I wonder if the above have now changed their minds.
