Lights are creating a huge mess
The introduction of the new traffic lights at the Ketley roundabout has once again proved what a bunch of idiots we have in the planning department.
It is a shambolic mess. On Sunday I travelled from the Princess Royal roundabout to go to the tip at Ketley and I ended up in a queue before I had reached the Furrows roundabout and this was at 12.15pm.
It was no better later on. When my wife went the same way to go to work she was queuing before the Furrows roundabout at 7.15pm.
How is this an improvement with the amount of wasted fuel - the impact upon the environment must be enormous. I would be interested to know what the Environment Portfolio holder at the council thinks about this problem, though I doubt he will be critical in anyway of a council employee.
They go on about improving things for the environment, but do they really care? I suggest that the traffic lights are turned off (keep the pedestrian lights on though) and the queues will very soon disappear. My wife has decided that she will not do her shopping at Tesco any more.
Why can the traffic lights not be part-time and work at peak times?
I also know of people taking shortcuts through Arleston to miss out the traffic lights, so how is that helping the community in Arleston who actually live next to the roads?
Well, the mess of Ketley roundabout can be added to the mess at the Trench Lock roundabout. Well done planners - where will you get the hat trick from?
