Most of us stray over limit

I read with interest the article by Shirley Tart. I was caught in Mid Wales going at 71mph on an open and safe road. I now have stealth tax stain on my 45-year previously clean licence. There is not a driver in the land who has not driven at 35mph in a 30mph limit.

However, the lunatic drivers who are unlicensed, without road tax and - more disgustingly - uninsured go unpunished.

I was on the M1 recently when three BMWs doing at least 100mph came up the inside lane one after the other and swerved across the motorway, but guess what - no police! That is speeding. That is dangerous.

I still await a response from our local taxman, Mr McAvoy, regarding my letter published in the Shropshire Star on August 27, 2005, when I asked for an explanation on the camera on the approach to the duel carriageway on the A41, and not on the Sandford bends.
