We must safeguard landmark
Those of us who wish to save Rowley's Mansion must mobilise quickly in the face of a council determined to sell Shrewsbury's crown jewel. They are determined to sell the car park around and sacrifice Rowley's in the deal.
Given time, which a conservative estimate must be five years for their scheme for the museum moving to the Music Hall to materialise, there is no reason why we could not plan for Rowley's to be arranged as a series of rooms over the ages as more enlightened cities as York, Norwich, etc have done.
The bed, for which I have the honour of being the refurbishment designer, is on loan from the V&A which almost certainly would be prepared to loan more.
For a medieval town to sell its most iconic possession seems foolhardy.
