Wisdom of the old is lost
Love him or hate him, Tony Blair was responsible for restoring the fortunes of the Labour Party and has done much to help get children out of deprivation and introduce the minimum wage etc.
I also applaud him for taking many unpopular decisions on a wide range of issues.
Having said this, my regard for all politicians was never high and I recently lambasted my MP and all others for appalling ineptitude.
I'm especially scornful of young "wet behind the ears" newly-elected Members of Parliament, flexing puny muscles and proclaiming Blair must go!
Pumping up my own last remaining muscles, I had the strength to tear up my affiliation card muttering "enough is enough."
The time when integrity mattered has long gone. The media now rules our lives. Parents of the next generation are too often callow youths or simpering girls watching boring celebrities on television screens less entertaining than animals on nature programmes.
Please let us be guided by the wisdom gifted to senior citizens who have meaningful life experiences.
