Support charity's soccer cup
As a supporter of CLIC Sargent, the children's cancer charity, I would like to encourage readers to take part in the charity's Legends Charity Cup, the five-a-side football tournament kicking off in September.
During my football career I've taken on lots of different roles; player, coach, manager, analyst and even match official.
Football is a beautiful game and I'd encourage as many people as possible to get involved in it. The Legends Charity Cup gives people a great opportunity to do this, whilst also raising funds for a worthwhile charity. Every day in the UK, five children are diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia. By taking part in this tournament and raising funds for CLIC Sargent though, every five aside team taking part will be able to help them, and their families. For more information call the event hotline on 0141 845 5565 or log on to www.clic sargent.o rg.uk/5aside.
The first round of regional heats starts in September at venues around the country, so I'd urge as many people to sign up today as possible, that way it might be you playing the Legends at the David Beckham Academy on October 8.
