Ministers to blame for influx

Is anyone really surprised that while Parliament is on holiday, the Government finally admits that the true figure for EU immigration since May 2004 could be 600,000 (Tom McNulty, immigration minister).

That is 22,000 a month or 5,000 immigrants a week, excluding those from outside the EU.

If (and when) Romania and Bulgaria, with their 30 million populations, are admitted to the EU, one national source predicts 620,000 could come into Britain in the first two years after their admission to the EU.

All estimates to date have been woefully under. Much of the money being earned by immigrants is sent home so there is limited benefit to the UK economy.

Surely opposition parties should force a vote of no confidence against a Government that is responsible for the biggest migrant influx in Britain's history, and is prepared to let it get far worse.
