Love Island’s Simon says Jonny has had ‘weight lifted’ by dumping Camilla for Tyla
The latest drama has seen one of the villa’s most beloved couples split, and the latest evictee has shared his thoughts about it.

The Love Island villa was hit with a surprise dumping in Wednesday’s episode, and Simon Searles was the unlucky hunk to receive the booting.
The barber, who joined the Majorcan villa last week, was culled when the other Love Islanders chose for him to leave after he and partner Tyla Carr were voted the least compatible couple by the public.
Speaking after his shock exit from the ITV2 reality show, Searles discussed the other big bombshell of the episode – Jonny Mitchell splitting from Camilla Thurlow to embark on a romance with Carr.

Searles said: “I think he feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders with Camilla.
“He genuinely wanted to see where it went with Camilla because she is a lovely person. Jonny is a really nice guy and on paper they really match up, but I think he wanted a bit more excitement when he was in there.
“Tyla has really caught his eye. He just wanted to give Tyla a shot.

The 28-year-old added: “It sort of backfired a bit when Jonny stepped up after I chose her, but I always said I’d never be in competition with Jonny over anything.
“It just unfolded in a way that meant that I got dumped from the Island. It was quite unlucky really.”

He said he refrained at the time because it would have “caused too many problems”.
In Wednesday’s episode of the Caroline Flack-fronted show, Thurlow was seen in tears after learning of Mitchell’s true intentions with Carr, particularly when she heard that he had said he wanted to “rip” Carr’s clothes off.
:: Love Island continues on ITV2 on Thursday at 9pm.
