Shrewsbury Christmas video: Watch this year's heart-warming story
Just like the John Lewis advert, for those in Shrewsbury the annual Christmas video signals the start of the festive season - and the wait is now over.
Opening to a moving adaptation of 'Silent Night', the 90 second video tells the familiar story of a mum, played by Olga Lewis, preparing for Christmas.
As the video unfolds, you see Shrewsbury's at its best, with seasonal shopping, mistletoe moments, present giving and festive celebrations with family and friends.
A spokesman said: "With this year's video we wanted to capture the magical essence of Christmas that is so synonymous with Shrewsbury. It's a busy time for shopping, eating out and events and we hope this video encourages everyone to come into town and experience seasonal Shrewsbury for themselves.
"All of the scenes were filmed with local actors and extras, with support from town centre businesses. We would like to thank everyone who got involved, including our Christmas competition winner Claire Bryers who inspired the spirit of the film with her winning poem from our recent Christmas competition."
Shrewsbury BID partnered with Shropshire based SMN Film for its Christmas production. It was produced and directed by Tom Middleton and Miche Parkinson of SMN Film.
