Smoke Stop BBQ restaurant sold by former Shrewsbury Town manager Jake King
An American barbecue restaurant previously owned by a former Shrewsbury Town manager has been sold.
Smoke Stop BBQ on the A458 at Ford has been sold to an unnamed restaurateur.
The restaurant had been owned by ex-Shrewsbury Town manager Jake King and his wife Linda.
Son Ryan and his partner Sophie both mainly handled the food site's day-to-day operation.
They had claimed the venue was the first authentic smokehouse restaurant in Shropshire.
Joshua Sullivan, business agent at Christie & Co's Birmingham office, was responsible for brokering the sale.
He said: "The sale of the Smoke Stop restaurant in Shrewsbury shows that the casual dining sector is thriving, not only in the town centre, but also in the outer areas.
"Jake and his family have put their hearts into creating a family-friendly eating venue offering authentic flavours thanks to their on-site smokers.
"As a result, they have been able to offer a great service to local diners.
"Now Jake feels the time is right to hand the restaurant over to a fresh pair of hands.
"We are delighted to have been able to find a new buyer who has a passion for good food."
