Plasteel agrees to tie-up with Filtermist
Air filter manufacturer Filtermist has agreed a deal with another Shropshire business that will see it offer local exhaust ventilation (LEV) testing.
The company has signed a deal with Bridgnorth-based Plasteel Services Limited, which will allow it to offer the new testing service.
While not a takeover of the business, it has coincided with a decision by Plasteel founder Arthur Moss to retire, with managing director Jamie Allen offering services through Filtermist, which is based in Telford having moved to a bespoke factory at T54 from Bridgnorth last year.
Filtermist's director of sales, Stuart Plimmer, said: "Filtermist is extremely well-known in the manufacturing industry right across the UK.
"We are confident that combining Filtermist's resources with Plasteel's expertise will offer all of our customers a number of benefits."
Established in 1969, Filtermist manufactures a range of compact oil mist filters used to effectively remove oil mist and fume generated in a wide range of manufacturing processes.
Its units are sold in more than 60 countries worldwide and it is the market leader in the UK.
The company also offers after-sales support in the UK. Its service division delivers planned and responsive maintenance for all makes and models of air filtration and extraction equipment, and provides LEV testing for all types of local exhaust ventilation systems.
Mr Plimmer added: "The Plasteel deal provides us with additional resource and expertise which will enable us to offer this service to more customers throughout the UK.
"Filtermist units are trusted to remove oil mist by many of the world's leading multi-national manufacturers and we aim to build the same reputation for our ancillary services."
Filtermist also offers a centralised extraction systems service to keep the air in industrial workshops clean.
