Shropshire law firm hailed for terrific turnover
Law firm Lanyon Bowdler has been highlighted in a national report ranking law firms by turnover and other statistics.
The company, which has its headquarters in Shrewsbury and branches in Telford, Oswestry, Ludlow and Hereford, turned over £8.9 million during 2014/15.
That helped it clock in at number 183 in the Lawyer UK Top 200 report – the highest of any new entry.
According to the report, it was also a "star performer", as it was among the best-performing or most innovative firms among the UK 200 Independents, and not just those that posted the biggest fee income rises last year.
Managing partner David Battisby, said being included in The Lawyer's Top 200 was an endorsement of the firm's standing in the legal industry and its local markets.
"The Lawyer is one of the legal industry's most respected publications so we are delighted not only to be named in this report for the first time, but also to have been singled out as a star performer," he said.
"It is confirmation of our growth over the past few years and recognition that we are delivering first class legal services to clients in Shropshire, Herefordshire and beyond.
"With the positivity we are seeing in our regional markets, we fully expect our growth to continue throughout this year as clients continue to choose local expert lawyers who can look after their legal affairs and deliver genuine value for money."
The Lawyer UK 200 is considered to be a good barometer of performance in the law industry, and is published every year by The Lawyer magazine.
Lanyon Bowdler was highlighted in a special report called "The UK 200: the Independents" which profiled the firms ranked from 100 to 200.
Report author, Matt Byrne, said: "The UK 200: the Independents charts every single one of the 100 firms in the lower half of this year's top 200, detailing the financial performance of each on a range of key metrics and, where possible, highlighting the strategic moves they are making in an effort to compete in one of the world's most ferocious markets."
