The company demonstrated its expanded product range at the MACH exhibition in Birmingham in April, and said the result of its attendance has been among its best ever.

Among the new lines launched at the event was the TIGO SF, a high-accuracy shopfloor 3D co-ordinate measuring machine.

The show was an important opportunity to present the company's growing product portfolio and highlight its substantial investment programme in a range of new facilities and services, said sales and marketing director Brett Green.

"This year's MACH show proved to be one of our best ever in terms of generating a vast number of excellent sales leads," he said.

"Our success was not only due to an enhanced product offering, but also because customer confidence appears stronger now that the economy is beginning to recover."

The range of new products comes on the back of an investment drive in Hexagon's range of products.

Last year it also installed a new management team, including Mr Green, plus Mark Wilding as director of operations and Sharon Bagri as director of finance and control.

The new team is aimed at spearheading its expansion plans which have included a reorganisation of its national sales team and the launch of new IT and customer support systems.

As well as new products, the company has also expanded its training academy programme to include a range of new courses offering foundation training in co-ordinate measurement.

Mr Green added: "Our recent investment in IT systems and infrastructure including more than £1m on a new precision centre at Milton Keynes is intended to position Hexagon Metrology to satisfy the future needs of UK manufacturing."

Hexagon counts leading Formula 1 teams among its customers, as they require the precision of its measurement systems for its cutting edge in-car technology. The Marussia team, based in Oxfordshire, recently brought in Hexagon's services.
