A plaque has been unveiled to mark a move by Technology Supplies Ltd to a new 32,000 sq ft home in Stafford Drive on Battlefield Enterprise Park. The firm was previously based two separate sites at Tern Hill and Rosehill near Market Drayton.

However, it has now centralised on a single site in Shrewsbury.

Company chiefs plan to use its move to increase turnover from £14 million to £20 million by 2015.

Managing director Gordon Campbell said: "We have continually grown since 2005, with a lot of that coming from inventive new products we have produced and our drive to look at more export markets.

"It won't be so much part of the move, but as we grow through the years we will be taking on more staff. We have a strategy to grow to £20 million turnover, and that's not only going to be organic growth, but through acquisitions as well."

He added: "We had an office block we had completely outgrown and had developed into every nook and cranny. It is a huge milestone for the company to have moved to where it is now, as it gives us a platform for growth."

The new factory and warehouse was opened by Steve Miller, chief executive of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust which works with Technology Supplies.

He said: "Quality products ensure design and technology can flourish within the education system. I feel that being asked to open Technology Supplies new premise reinforces the fact that those who support design and technology must work together to inspire the future designers and architects of tomorrow."
