Albion are set to hand debuts to a number of new signings when they host Everton this weekend.
Gianni Zuiverloon, signed for £2.3million from Heerenveen in July, has returned from the Olympics after his Netherlands side were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Argentina.
Spain midfielder Borja Valero, a target of Mowbray's all summer, has agreed terms with the club and could be involved this weekend depending on how quickly the paperwork can be completed.
Kim Do-Heon, James Morrison and Ishmael Miller could all find their starting places under threat by the new arrivals, while the return of Luke Moore and Robert Koren from injury increases the competition in midfield and attack.
Everton miss Olympic participant Victor Anichebe, whose Nigeria side has made it through to the final which will be played on Saturday morning.
They are also missing midfielders Steven Pienaar, Tim Cahill and Andy Van der Meyde through injury.
That is likely to give a further chance to Jack Rodwell, who started for the Toffees when they were beaten 3-2 by Blackburn last week, while fellow youngsters Dan Gosling, Jose Baxter and John Paul Kissock could come in off the bench.
