Report: Tividale 3 Market Drayton Town 3
Boss Martyn Davies was left frustrated after Market Drayton Town were held 3-3 at struggling Tividale.
It was Town's fourth draw on the trot, following on formidable achievements at Leek Town, Newcastle and Coalville.
That underlined Drayton's overall form this year, during which they've lost only one of seven Evo-Stik First Division South games.
The point was also one which means they have managed more than they did all last season. Yet amid lavishing praise on his young players, Davies admitted to being just a tad disappointed too.
He said: "The lads have done superbly well. You can't praise them enough, given where we started from. With a third of our league games left they've got more points than all last season.
"That's magnificent. But I just can't help thinking we might have done a little better.
"A little more nous, luck, ability, experience, call it what you will, at the right time and we could have nicked more from some of our drawn games."
Town seemed to have their timing right at Tividale when Cohen Bramall fired them in front for the first time.
It came fter James O'Neill had twice cancelled out first-half strikes by Tividale's Chris Rabone and Chris Sterling.
With half an hour left and Drayton coping better on Tividiale's notoriously sloping, slippery and sodden pitch, Davies had every hope of getting maximum points from the league's backmarkers.
But Town's promising approach work could not bring a fourth goal and, with 11 minutes left, Scott Devlin made it 3-3 against the run of play.
That triggered a late burst from Tividale which Drayton only survived when Mike O'Reilly took one for the team to stop a breakaway – and received a red card for his pains.
