Nouha Dicko: I'm getting back to my best for Wolves

Comeback striker Nouha Dicko believes he's getting back to his best shape.

The 24-year-old made his long-awaited return in Wolves colours when he came off the bench against Norwich last weekend.

And Dicko followed that up with a man-of-the-match performance in the Checkatrade Trophy victory at Crewe in midweek, scoring two top-quality goals in the form of an electric half-volley and a cheeky backheel.

Dicko told the Express & Star that he's starting to feel like his old self again. "I'm getting sharper and sharper," he said. "I was pleased with how it went (at Crewe). This cup is good for the young ones and the first-team players who need some game time.

"I need some game time. I felt I still need some time to play and I was really looking forward to it because Saturday was good. I wanted to play well and to win and that's what we did.

"It's really nice to score, I don't really care how I score! But to score like this with two nice goals is really nice and I felt I could have had one or two more."

Dicko perhaps surprised the Wolves cameraman with a rather rude celebration, sticking two fingers up at the camera. But he said: "No it definitely wasn't rude! It was something I told my friend that I'd do because his name starts with a 'V'."

Team-mate Jed Wallace has predicted that Dicko is 10 training sessions away from being back to his peak.

Dicko's not sure how long it will take, but he certainly believes he's on the right track. "I can't tell how many sessions I need but what I can tell is I'm feeling better," he added. "I feel I'm getting back to where I was. That's really important after you've been out for a long time. As a football player that's what you fear, to not feel the same."

Meanwhile, fellow striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson was left out of Iceland's 3-2 victory over Finland. He has missed Wolves' last two games with groin injury and was left on the bench as a precaution, with ex-Wolves man Bjorn Sigurdarson playing instead.
