Prince Oniangue ready to offer more for Wolves
Wolves midfielder Prince Oniangue says there's plenty more to come from him – as he gets used to the intensity of English football.
The 27-year-old has scored two goals in nine appearances since moving from Reims for £2million in the summer.
Oniangue, who says he's already looking forward to the big derby at Villa on Saturday week, has moved into a new house in the area and feels he's settling in nicely at Molineux. But the Congo international says the Wolves fans haven't seen anywhere near the best of him yet.
"At the moment I think I have shown 60 to 70 per cent of my ability with getting used to everything," he said.
"And I know there is more to come from me. When I do that I feel I will do even better. The league is very intense here – the ball is up and down the pitch.
"In the first division in France there is maybe more time on the ball and more time to play football – the pace is not as intense as it is here. I like it though and feel I am adapting to it. I need to learn quickly and there is no problem. I am confident I have more to offer."
Wolves have lost their last two games on the spin, suffering 2-1 defeats to Wigan Athletic and Norwich City.
But with Oniangue being one of 12 new signings, he knows it will take a while for the team to gel.
"We have come in from different places and we are all getting to know how we play on the pitch and what the coach wants us to do," he added.
"Everybody is working very hard to get towards that and we can only improve."
Oniangue made his Wolves debut in the 3-1 derby win at Blues in August.
And he's looking forward to playing a big role when Wolves travel to Villa Park next weekend.
"When we play again it will be another big match and a derby game as well," he said. "That is one to look forward to. We will work hard to be able to get everybody together and the right dynamic to win.
"We have to be solid and not concede goals early on. When we lose a goal at the beginning of the match it changes the condition and the game is not the same."
