Deadly duo will give Wolves a huge boost, says Conor Coady
Conor Coady thinks two returning 'match-winners' can make a big difference for Wolves next season – and help restore an 'unbelievable' atmosphere back at Molineux.
Wolves will welcome back Nouha Dicko, Mike Williamson and Ethan Ebanks-Landell into their pre-season squad after long-term injuries, while it's hoped Jordan Graham might not be too far behind them as he targets a September or October comeback.
And midfielder Coady believes Dicko and Graham, in particular, could feel like two new signings for the team next term.
"I think some of the players coming back will be like new additions," he said. "You've got Jordan Graham, a massive influence in Nouha Dicko, they're going to be huge for us.
"They're match-winners, they're going to win us games. To get them back is really important for us.
"As a whole; the fans, the players, the staff, we need to push forward in the right direction."
Coady ended his first campaign in gold and black with 39 appearances.
The 23-year-old, who has been pleased with his debut season, was bowled over by the atmosphere for the final-day win over Sheffield Wednesday.
And he wants more of the same in 2016/17.
"The crowd were fantastic – it spurs you on so much when they're like that," he said. "When I first came in I'll always remember the Villa game, my first game at Molineux, and it was unbelievable, I couldn't believe what it was like for a pre-season game, it was scary.
"It does make a difference and it gives us a taste of what it could be like next season.
"I've loved it, I love everything about this place. I've settled in really well and I enjoy being here – it's a fantastic place to play football."
Wolves have announced they will face Crewe and Port Vale as part of their pre-season preparations for 2016/17. They go to Gresty Road on Friday, July 15, and then Vale Park on Saturday, July 23, with the team's six-day trip to Ireland sandwiched between.
Ticket details for the games will be announced in due course.
Vale finished 12th in League One last season while Crewe were relegated to League Two after finishing bottom of the pile.
Railwaymen boss Steve Davis – who came close to getting the Wolves job in 2013 – this week said his players shouldn't go on holiday this summer, and should stay and graft at the club instead.
More friendlies are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
