Kenny Jackett: Wolves can beat congestion

Boss Kenny Jackett believes Wolves have the strength to cope with their upcoming fixture congestion.

Saturday's draw at Fulham in the FA Cup means they now face three games in six days next week – including two in the space of little more than 48 hours.

Wolves head to Blackburn on Sunday in the Championship and will then host the Cottagers next Tuesday in a replay. A home game with Blackpool then awaits the following Saturday.

But head coach Jackett thinks the close proximity of the games will not be an issue if they approach them with the right attitude.

He said: "We will be playing three games in a week, and that is a spell when we are going to have to work hard and make sure every single player is available, fit and well.

"It will be a test, of course it will, but it is a challenge that we will take on, using the squad if necessary.

"It's about preparation for the players and making sure that mentally they are ready for it.

The replay is what it is – whether it's helpful to our league programme or not it is all about our attitude to it.

"We want to try to progress and do well in the FA Cup and the replay is a game we will look forward to."

Wolves have not won an FA Cup tie since 2011 and that is a run Jackett remains keen to end.

He added: "The chairman has told me that Wolves haven't been past the fourth round in recent years.

"If we can get a run together that would be fantastic – a cup run would be great for us this year."
