Kenny Jackett: Wolves stars are staying
Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett today insisted Bakary Sako and Kevin Doyle will not be allowed to leave when the loan window opens.
The Molineux men rejected multiple bids from Nottingham Forest culminating in an offer believed to be around £3.5m for Sako on deadline day, while Leicester had talks over Doyle.
But Jackett stressed there is no need to sell or loan the stars out as the club look to keep their best players for an all-out assault on promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.
"The chairman has said to me all along it would have to be a bid that we couldn't turn down," said Jackett, who saw Sako score in normal time and in the penalty lottery in last night's 4-2 shoot-out win over Walsall in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy.
"We're not looking to move Sako out. You can't say a player is not for sale because no club can ever say that, but it would take a considerable bid for us to sell one of our best players."
As for Doyle, who missed last night's clash due to injury, Jackett stressed: "There's no suggestion of letting him out on loan."
