Wolves under no pressure to sell Doyle and Sako

The duo have been linked with moves away from Molineux all summer but have started the League One season impressively.

Jackett's response comes as Wolves braced themselves for a bid for Sako from Nottingham Forest.

In a poll conducted on the Express & Star website this week, thousands of fans voted on the issue.

More than 90 per cent said they would prefer the duo to stay, despite the financial burden their wages might place on the club.

Both are among the top earners, with Doyle on an estimated £40,000 a week, while Sako's weekly wage is thought to be in the region of £25,000.

But Jackett is under no pressure to get either off the wage bill and claims the club will only sell if another club matches Wolves' valuation.

He said: "They are both in the team and that's a good thing. Their performances have been good, as have those of the whole side.

"They do attract some speculation but really, from my point of view, they are part of the group and I'm planning for Crawley on Friday, for Port Vale and the Walsall game.

"We will see how their standard of play continues but until there is a worthy bid, they are Wolves players."

Sako has scored in consecutive games, while Doyle had a hand in both goals in Saturday's 2-1 win at Bristol City. Neither man has expressed a desire to leave Molineux.

Swansea are the latest club to be linked with a move for Doyle, after Celtic failed to agree a fee with Wolves earlier in the summer.

And Jackett expressed some surprise there had not been more interest in the Republic of Ireland international.

The head coach said: "I know there is still a week and a bit to go until the madness that is the last couple of days of the transfer window, but so far it has been very quiet for Kevin.

"Looking at the summer and, looking at the squad, you would think he would be one of the players to leave."
