Unhappy fans chanted 'what a load of rubbish' after the 2-0 setback to Mick McCarthy's side, during which Wolves failed to register an attempt on target.

Wolves have failed to win eight of their last nine home games, and, coming on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Peterborough on Boxing Day, Foley admitted the players aren't pulling their weight.

He said: "When things aren't going the way they should be, the least we should give is hard work and I don't think we did that through the team.

"If there are misplaced passes, fair enough, but if you're not willing to track back and help each other, then it's only going to end in one result.

"I don't think we worked hard enough all over the pitch and they outfought us. We were keen to get a positive result and put that behind us.

"Another 2-0 defeat at home is just not good enough. The fans are frustrated which is totally understandable – the lads are frustrated as well."

Foley insisted that the players believe in manager Stale Solbakken's methods.

The right-back said: "We all know how Stale wants us to play and it's been half the season now – we should all be used to it.

"The team is fully behind the manager and the manager is fully behind the team. We are not showing that at the moment and we have got to get better results."

Wolves are 17th in the Championship as they prepare to go to high-flying Crystal Palace tomorrow and Foley admitted they owe the fans a performance.

He said: "No-one is hurting more than the players – we have to repay the fans at Palace."
