Christophe Berra calls for patience from Wolves fans
Wolves defender Christophe Berra is urging fans to keep in mind the Championship battle for promotion is "a marathon not a sprint".
The Molineux team closed a disappointing double-header at home with a second 1-1 draw at the weekend which saw further momentum lost since the victory at Blackburn.
That was hailed as the team's performance of the season so far but two points from nine and a chorus of boos greeting Saturday's result against Charlton proved a sobering reminder of the work still to be done.
Berra has been in impressive form alongside Roger Johnson after a summer in which the future of both players appeared uncertain. And he is eager to remind supporters that the team is still taking the very first steps in a lengthy journey.
"It is a difficult league and we have had three different games last week," he said.
"Charlton have just come up and came to Molineux trying to make it difficult for us and stop us creating chances.
"We had to break them down and had done that but from there we needed to push on and get a second goal.
"It is still a 'work in progress' and the signs are positive in that we are playing better and more attractive football.
"I can understand the fans' frustrations but I think it is going to come good in time.
"It is a marathon not a sprint and there is a long way to go."
