Chasing goals not the plan for Wolves
Wolves boss Stale Solbakken today warned fans his team will shut up shop rather than chase more goals to continue their winning run.
Solbakken's rebuilt side host in-form Crystal Palace tonight seeking their fifth successive league win and fourth consecutive clean sheet. Neither has been achieved since the November and March respectively of the 2008-09 Championship title-winning season.
Solbakken admitted if that success was to be maintained, it would be achieved in the same controlled manner as Saturday's 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
"We want to win games and play good, attacking football," he said.
"But it's not just about Wolverhampton – we must remember what the opposition do and adapt to that.
"It's always about balance – we could have had a second goal on Saturday but it would have been stupid to chase one and end up conceding because it's better winning 1-0 instead of drawing 1-1.
"We don't want to open up, but, for all the possession we had in the second half, I expected us to create more chances so we could have scored that second goal."
Solbakken is set to field virtually the same team as Saturday, with the exception of Razak Boukari (calf), although Stephen Ward (ankle) is fit.
