Solbakken to continue shuffling his Wolves side
Stale Solbakken today vowed to continue shuffling his Wolves pack to keep his players hungry as they bid for their third successive win at Peterborough on Saturday.
The Molineux chief made three changes as Razak Boukari and Bjorn Sigurdarson made their first Championship starts in last night's 2-0 win at Ipswich.
And he was rewarded as Wolves ultimately won fairly comfortably with a Tommy Smith own goal and a cracker from substitute Tongo Doumbia.
Boukari, Sigurdarson and Dave Edwards replaced Slawomir Peszko, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Doumbia from the side that beat Leicester 2-1 on Sunday.
Rock-bottom Posh have an extra day's rest after losing 2-1 at home to Bristol City on Tuesday – their sixth straight league defeat.
And with Wolves facing their third game in six days on Saturday, the Norwegian is promising to ring the changes again.
"You have to do that in the Championship," said Solbakken.
"I made three changes and two of them started their first game in the Championship.
"They need to get used to the division and there will be more changes on Saturday.
"Ipswich had one day's more rest than us and that could have been a factor when the games come so quickly. That's the same with Peterborough who we meet on Saturday."
Solbakken also called for patience with Sigurdarson after his first start as the £2.4m striker adjusts to the English game.
"He's had some small injuries which stopped him training properly, but he's fine now," added Solbakken.
