Stale Solbakken will wait on deals for Wolves duo

Wolves today declared they are prepared to play a waiting game on new contracts for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Ronald Zubar.

The pair are the only two senior players whose futures are unclear, with less than a year left on their deals.

Christophe Berra is on the transfer list, Stephen Hunt has been made available, Michael Kightly and Adlene Guedioura were sold and Nenad Milijas had his contract cancelled.

Both Ebanks-Blake and Zubar have played every Championship game so far.

"For those players going into the last year, both parties are monitoring the situation," said Wolves boss Stale Solbakken.

"If you asked Sylvan he'd say he may or may not be interested – that's what can happen when there's nine or 10 months left. It's the same for Zubar.

"You don't necessarily have to do anything with these players because you have a whole squad. We also have a wage bill.

"You look at how many are on long-term and short-term contracts and you have to consider if you want the money available or do you want to use it on a particular player? This is an ongoing situation."
