Wolves have appointed Johan Lange to their coaching staff to assist Stale Solbakken.

The 32-year-old Dane arrives in Wolverhampton on Monday with the new boss after three-and-a-half years at FC Copenhagen, where he was assistant coach.

Wolves are expected to confirm his appointment next week and he will work with assistant boss Terry Connor, fitness coach Tony Daley and goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain.

Lange, who led the club to the Super League runners-up spot and the Danish Cup last term, is said to be one of the brightest young tacticians in Scandinavia, rising from academy coach to first-team coach in three years, initially under Solbakken.

From May 2011 he assisted manager Roland Nilsson, before taking a more senior role from January when sports director Carsten V Jensen and the head coach's role were merged after the former Coventry and Sheffield Wednesday player was sacked.

FC Copenhagen confirmed Lange's departure on their website.

A statement read: "Assistant coach Johan Lange will depart from FC Copenhagen at the end of June.

"Lange has been the Lions' assistant coach for a few years now, and has been integral to FCK's recent successes.

"Johan is very well liked at the club, so it is with sadness that we say goodbye."

Jensen said: "Johan has received an offer to continue his development as a coach somewhere else, and FC Copenhagen will not stand in the way of his desire to pursue this option.

"On behalf of FC Copenhagen, we offer great thanks to Johan for his efforts here, and good luck in the future."
