Stephen Ward today set himself one last target to try to end Wolves' wretched campaign on a personal high.

The 26-year-old left-back is Wolves' only player to have figured in every minute of the Premier League campaign so far.

Matt Jarvis is a team-mate to have played in every league game but hasn't finished all of the matches.

And despite a dead leg sustained in Saturday's amazing 4-4 draw at Swansea, the Republic of Ireland international is determined to continue his ever-present record.

He said: "I have played every minute of every game so it's been brilliant to play so many matches. It's probably taken its toll on the limbs – I got a bit of a dead leg on Saturday but I wanted to stay out there to keep my record.

"I will be fine for the next game, though. Hopefully, I can stay in the team for the last two games."

Despite relegation, Ward revealed the players are determined to finish the season on a high.

He revealed: "We said in the dressing room before the Swansea game 'we started the season with three positive results, let's finish the season with three positive results' and that started on Saturday.

"We know, as players, we have under-performed this season."

And Ward insisted that the dressing room wants to reward beleaguered boss Terry Connor with a win.

He said: "We really want to finish the season on a positive note and especially for 'TC,' really.

"We want it for ourselves as well because we are proud footballers and we want to finish with pride, but from what 'TC' has done, we want to reward him with some positive results.

"The fans only see the results."
