Wolves left-back Stephen Ward today delivered a damning assessment on the squad when he admitted: "We haven't been good enough."

Terry Connor's rock-bottom side are four points from the safety line after crashing to their fourth successive defeat with the 2-1 reverse at Norwich on Saturday.

Wolves were much improved at Carrow Road but they host Bolton on Saturday having won once in their last 16 league games and Ward said they only have themselves to blame.

"The boys have to hold our hands up and say we've not been good enough this season," he said.

"The lads are hurting but we'll all keep fighting to the end like we always do.

"If we fall short, rest assured, we'll have given it everything. It's important that the fans realise we're as disappointed as they are."

Ward admitted the players have let the fans down.

"We do feel we're letting them down but we're Wolves and once we pull that shirt on, we give it everything," he said.

Ward, however, said the team will continue to give it everything and insisted they haven't given up of hope of staying up.

"We still believe we can stay in this league and hopefully the fans still believe it because one result could still change everything."
