Former Shrewsbury ace Edwards ended a six-month struggle with a back problem with his first appearance in a reserve clash against Newcastle at Telford on Tuesday.
And now the 25-year-old midfielder is planning to be the "new signing" Wolves didn't make on transfer deadline day.
Wolves fans last saw Edwards starring in a 4-0 Premier League defeat of Blackpool, but the upbeat report on his rehab was one of the factors which contributed to the club's lack of deadline-day business.
"It's been the longest time I've had out in my career," said Edwards who played 78 minutes at the Bucks Head.
"It's been a hard six months It's nice to hopefully come through the other side – but now I've got work extra hard to keep myself fit and avoid future problems."
