The first time Town had come from behind to win a game of football this season.

The first time they had scored more than once since August 15 and Jordan Shipley’s first goal of the season on his return.

As the adage goes ‘you can only beat what is put in front of you’ and that was the case for Town at the weekend.

Despite a 3-2 scoreline – which suggests the game was tight – it was a fairly comfortable second-half performance bar a nervy final few moments.

The scoreline is misleading as you could the difference between League Two outfit Colchester United and League One Town was clear.

There have been moments this season where we have thought Shrewsbury’s creativity issues have been put to bed, but on each occasion that has not been the case.

The 1-0 win against Derby, where Town created a ton of chances and should have scored more, the same applies to the 0-0 draw against Charlton at the Meadow – there are other examples too.
