Harry Chapman's match-winning quality no fluke for Shrewsbury Town

Defender Aaron Pierre and stand-in boss Aaron Wilbraham insist Harry Chapman's stunning match-winning double was no fluke – because he does it in training all week.

Blackburn loan star Chapman, 23, lit up his Shrewsbury Town home debut with a brilliant brace to see off high-flying Peterborough.

The attacker dispatched a rasping 20-yard drive with his weaker left foot to open the scoring after the break before a fine individual effort late on.

Pierre, who helped Town to a deserved clean sheet, said: "It was a great two goals that he scored, but believe it or not he actually does that in training.

"We just need to encourage him to carry on doing it, in training you see him, he hits top bins (top corner) all of the time. We just need to hope he keeps doing it in games."

Wilbraham, who oversaw the first victory since Steve Cotterill's absence with illness, added: "He's been doing it all week in training, Chappy. I said Friday that I fancied him tomorrow, he's been banging them in all week in training.

"You could see how much work he did for the team, the gaffer mentioned to me to tell him he's got to work as No.8 without the ball and work as a No.10 with the ball.

"I thought he did that down to a tee and it was two great finishes, he deserved it for his work rate."
