The 25-year-old thought he had netted the winner with his first goal for the club on Saturday but his 88th-minute strike was cancelled out by visitors Gillingham.

Norburn, who created Town’s other goal for Lee Angol, is hoping to light up the Banks’s Stadium by adding another goal to his Salop tally.

The summer signing from Tranmere believes an in-your-face approach is the best way for John Askey’s side go into tonight’s derby.

“I hope it suits me,” Norburn said. “It’s a local derby and I’ve love to get another goal.

“I just hope we go there with the high intensity and get the three points.

“We’ve got to go there and get the three points. Hopefully that’ll kick-start us again.

“It’s still early days in the season, there’s a lot of promising things, so let’s not be all negative – but we have got to cut the negative stuff out which is costing us points.”

Norburn added that Saturday’s squandering of two points was dealt with after the game with Town keen to move on.

“We let ourselves down,” he admitted. “It was very soft and we know that. We dealt with it in the changing room, nothing said in there was personal, it’s because we all want to push in the right direction.”
