The top prize, votes by supporters, capped an impressive night for the popular playmaker, who also won players’ player of the season.

“It has been a fantastic season,” Nolan told a packed out Sovereign Suite at the Meadow.

“There wouldn’t have been any arguments with a number of players winning.

“But obviously I’m pleased to get it.”

Boss Paul Hurst, Nolan, and other award-winners addressed supporters and guests at the Meadow.

Nolan added: “I think my mum made a Whatsapp group and made all of them (the fans) vote! I’m pleased.

“It was the gaffer and Doigy, playing with them at Grimsby, it’s been an easy transition.”
