Stefan Payne should be fit for Shrewsbury's trip to Oldham
Stefan Payne looks set to make Shrewsbury Town's trip to Oldham on Saturday after fears of a foot injury.
The in-form hitman returned to training today for Paul Hurst's side after being withdrawn in the first-half from Tuesday's win over Southend.
Payne is in flying for his new side having scored four times in just six outings since moving on a permanent basis.
There were fears that he had suffered a recurrence of the foot injury that sidelined him for both former club Barnsley and Town last season.
Hurst said: "Stef's trained today. There's a slight soreness.
"It's certainly much better news than was in his head. I was very non-committal on it all because I wasn't entirely sure.
"It's looking like it's good news. Hopefully it was a bit of a scare and nothing more."
Midfielder Bryn Morris is roughly a week away from returning to full training following surgery on a knee injury suffered in the summer. Right-back James Bolton, who missed Tuesday's clash, is rated doubtful for the trip to Boundary Park with a knee complaint.
