Members of the club’s Supporters’ Parliament behind the decision to look at installing rail seating at the club’s Oteley Round home hosted a special meeting dedicated to the project, launched last week.

Mike Davis, Roger Grove, Chris Wynn and Martin James joined chief executive Brian Caldwell in front of more than 100 supporters in the Sovereign Suite.

A Q&A session allowed members of the parliament to listen to concerns from South Stand supporters who would be affected by safe standing.

Both positive and negative views were put forward by supporters in attendance. Questions were raised on logistics, timescales, crowd-funding and methods of increasing the atmosphere in the stadium.

Davis informed supporters that the current consultancy period with supporters will continue throughout the process.

Shropshire Council’s safety advisory group are deciding on plans.

The next supporters’ parliament meeting, which is open to all fans, will be held next Tuesday, 7pm at the Prince of Wales pub.

Any supporters with questions or concerns about the project are encouraged to attend.

“We want to encourage people who want to stand, to go to that area, because it is safe.” Caldwell said.
