Abu Ogogo delighted with early Shrewbury return
Abu Ogogo used his motivation to beat his supposed season-ending injury to return to action ahead of schedule.
The popular midfielder detailed his frustrating recovery from a medial knee ligament injury picked up in February against Scunthorpe. Scans originally suggested the stand-in skipper would miss between 10-12 weeks, sidelining him for the remainder of the campaign.
But the club were handed a timely boost against Northampton on Easter Monday as the midfield warrior was handed a surprise start and completed 90 energetic minutes.
"It's been very frustrating watching from the sidelines," said the 25-year-old. "I'm the worst person to sit and watch. I want to be out on the pitch and I'm back now so I'm happy."
Ogogo, who will enter his third season as Town player next year, spent long hours with physio Chris Skitt.
"I think he's buzzing to get me out of the physio room and back onto the pitch," added Ogogo.
"I've always wanted to get back for the last few games so that was my motivation and now I'm back. I want to stay in this division now."
