Danny Coyne: New Shrewsbury Town manager will have work to do
Shrewsbury Town depleted interim chief Danny Coyne has claimed that things won't be immediately rosy when the new manager is finally appointed.
Coyne has oversaw four defeats from four since the departure of Micky Mellon and plans to appoint a new chief have dragged on and yesterday frustratingly stalled.
Chief executive Brian Caldwell has promised everybody is working as hard as possible behind the scenes to secure an appointment but Coyne warned that the struggles won't be fixed win the click of a finger.
He said: "Everybody knows right up to the chairman it'll settle the team down, even right up to the press box, they're going as hard as they can to make it happen.
"People think it's easy to pluck somebody out of the air and they're going to change everything. It doesn't work like that, it's not going to be all rosy - they're trying their very best up there, believe me.
"There is uncertainty yes but things are going on behind the scenes, the club just want some stability.
"It takes time, we can't just rush in and go and get somebody that's not right because in the long term we're looking to build and get something in place that everybody wants."
On his own position, fronting up the pressure from dismayed supporters in the stands, Coyne added: "It's a lonely place to be. It's like you're down there and somebody is kicking on you and stamping you.
"I'll keep saying, the only way you'll get out of it is getting yourself out of it and I'll keep saying that until I die I think.
"You can't feel sorry for yourself and you lose your focus.
"I feel for the lads, I've been there in a similar moment but it's hard and you've got to do it."
