Younger brother Luke also looks to have a bright future between the posts after gaining his first caps for Wales at junior level.

Luke, who is heading into Town's academy under-15s side next season, was recently involved in Wales Under-15s' internationals.

In games against Belgium and Switzerland, conceding just one goal in the two games against strong opposition.

Luke, a pupil at Newport's Burton Borough School, qualifies to play for Wales through Mark, his Welsh father.

Big brother Callum, who has been offered a new contract by Shrewsbury, pledged his own international future to England and has been capped at under-16, 17 and 18 level.

Andy Jones, Shrewsbury Town's recently-appointed academy manager, told the club website: "Luke representing Wales is great recognition for himself and the academy here at Shrewsbury Town.

"Luke always applies himself in a professional manner both in training and fixtures.

"Given his temperament, we are not surprised that he has been identified by the Football Association of Wales as a player with excellent potential.

"Luke has been with the academy for a number of years and is one of many young players that we have high hopes for."

Burton junior looks like being the latest promising goalkeeper to emerge from the club's ranks.

Shrewsbury have been blessed with some excellent goalkeepers down the years from Manchester City league title winner Ken Mulhearn through to Steve Ogrizovic, Steve Perks and Joe Hart.

Mulhearn's grandson, academy scholar Harry Lewis, was sold to Premier League side Southampton last August in a transfer that could eventually be worth about £300,000.
